Term 2 newsletter

Dear Parents,

Hope you had a great Easter and holiday!

Here is an overview of what we will be learning about this term:


Maths:This term in weeks 1-9 we will be working on our number knowledge and addition/subtraction. In weeks 10 and 11 we will be learning about statistics.

Writing: We are beginning the term by revising the basics of how to write and writing about our holidays. Then we will begin narrative writing, making up stories.

Religious EducationThis week we have been learning about prayer. Next week we will begin learning about the Holy Spirit and towards the end of the term we will begin learning about God.

PE: This term we are learning ball skills.

Art: This term we will be working on our school production, Treasure Island. We will be performing this in week 9. More details about this will be sent home soon.

Topic: This week we were learning about ANZAC day. There will be no topic time while we are practising for school production.

Show and tell
This will continue to be every Friday

Stationery
I topped up the children's stationery this week with the extras you gave me at the beginning of the year. Please check with your child every now and then to see if there is anything they have run out of.

Home learning
I will be adding a few new home learning items to your child's reading folder (basic facts board game, snakes and ladders sight words and blends for reading)


Weekly writing challenge - keep an eye on the blog each week.


Dates this term

6th May - cross country
29th May - Our class is leading assembly
17th and 18th June - school production

26th June - school disco
3rd July - Mid winter breakfast and final day of term
