Hey, hope you've had a great day!

Today in maths we started to learn about graphs. The children made their own graphs about our favourite things to do at morning tea and lunchtime.
We have been really enjoying learning about statistics!

Week 10

Hey, hope you had a great weekend.

Congratulations to everyone in Room 11 for their wonderful singing/dancing in our school production. You all did so well!

I didn't manage to get any photos of the children on stage as I was back stage. If you managed to get any good photos of the mice, pirates or villagers it would be really great if you could email them to me and I will put them up onto the blog. Thanks!

We are back to our normal routine this week. We have started a whole class maths unit based on statistics, today we learnt about tally charts. We made one for our favourite colours and favourite animals.

A few things to note

Class mass - this Friday our class will be attending mass.

School disco this Friday.

Have a nice week, Mrs Carroll :)

Tuesday 16 June 2015

School production day is almost here!

The children are all really excited about tomorrow, hopefully you will have received the email outlining what is happening.

A few things to note:

- Please be at school a little earlier tomorrow
- Please put lunches into a named bag and send along a drink bottle
- Sports uniform tomorrow (no school uniform needed)

Also, today the children took home a PTA survey, it would be really great if you could take the time to fill this out and return it to me or the office. Thank you! :)

Wednesday 3 June 2015

Hope you are having a great day!
Hopefully you received this notice today, here is a copy just in case..
There is slight adjustment to the notice that went out on some class blogs. We are aware that it is a short week and also we are not sure how many parents read the blogs;
On Pirate day on Friday, children come in their sports uniform no school uniform needed. If they have any pirate accessories please bring them along.
We will be making pirate things and there will be an opportunity for some pirate drama!
Regards,
Today we wrote about Room 11 going on an imaginary pirate adventure - I have 8 of these masks, the children are welcome to wear these for pirate day on Friday.

The children are in different classes for school production, they should have recieved a notice from the teacher who is taking their group, outlining what they will be wearing.

Week 7

This weeks writing challenge

Here's your story starter

One beautiful and sunny day I was walking along the beach and I found a treasure map...

You can draw a picture and continue the story. Have fun writing!

Pirate week

To tie in with our school production, this week the Rutherford team are having a pirate week. Our writing, some of our maths and our art will be centered around the theme of pirates.

This Friday (the 5th June) the Rutherford team are having a pirate morning.
- Children are able to dress up like pirates (this is optional) and may just be a pirate hat, a pirate mask etc.
We will be doing some fun activities in the morning.
See you tomorrow :)
