Hey,

Hope you are having a great week!

There has been a problem with getting photos from the ipad onto the blog but it has just been fixed, here are the photos from this week :)

Our Science Alive visit. Thank you to Rebecca Boag for being parent help for this!

Learning about time this week

Enjoying these nice sunny days, reading outside the classroom

This week the class have been writing instructions on how to make sock puppets. Today they had fun following their instructions and making them!

Just a reminder that we have mass tomorrow morning so full school uniform please.

Have a nice afternoon :)

Tuesday 8 September 2015

Hi everyone,

Hope you are having a great term, it's great to be back!

I was welcomed back by this banner that Mrs Shea and the class made which was lovely :)

Just a few things to note:

Parent help:
It would be great to get a parent helper to join us at the Marae on Thursday please, let me know if you are able to join us. Many thanks!

Next Monday (the 14th) Science Alive are visiting our class in the afternoon from 1.30-3. They have requested that we have a few parent helpers. If you would like to join us please let me know :)

Sock puppets
For writing at the moment the children have been learning to write instructions. Next week they will be writing instructions on how to make a sock puppet. Can you please send along a long sock from home by Tuesday next week, preferably a grey one as we are making cat sock puppets (black socks are fine too) thanks!

Marae visit
Tomorrow I will send home a notice with a few reminders about our Marae visit on Thursday.

Have a nice afternoon,

Mrs Carroll :)

Upcoming Events

There are a number of things happening in the Rutherford team and whole school at the moment:

  • This Friday Rm 11 and Rm 1 will be attending a special mass (just for us!) in the school hall at 9.15am followed by a classroom visit from Father Kevin of the OLA Parish. They will be required to wear their FULL UNIFORM for the whole day :-)

  •  Movemprove started yesterday and will be on every Tuesday from 11-11.45am until the end of the term. If you are available to assist you are more than welcome to come along to the school hall. Your children were all abuzz about it before during, and afterwards!

  • Next Thursday 10 September Rm 11 will be visiting the Hillmorton High School Marae. Please let me know if you can be a parent helper at this event. You should have received a notice with the details today.

  • We are beginning an Awesome Forces Science unit this week and as part of this we are very lucky to have Science Alive visiting us on Monday 14th September. Once again, if you can be a parent helper for this please let me know. We are also collecting clean polystyrene (meat style) trays for experimenting with so if you have any to spare we would be very grateful to have them!

  • Finally, could I ask you to check whether your child has a blue pen/whiteboard marker as I have had several children borrowing mine. Thank you!

Enjoy the beginning of our spring weather..at last!

Angela Shea :-)
